When does Codex reset? Check the right clock
For your personal Codex reset time, check Settings → Usage or /status in the CLI. A public reset announcement answers a different question. Use this guide when a weekly limit, calendar date and saved-reset deadline appear to disagree.

Write the label next to the date. A date without its allowance, event or expiry label is easy to misread.

Find your weekly or shorter-window reset time
- Open your current account's Usage view; in an active CLI session, check /status.
- Find the allowance named in the limit message, rather than choosing the first percentage you see.
- Record the displayed date, time and timezone together with that allowance's label.
- Check the same view again after a reset instead of extending an old reminder by a guessed interval.
Why the calendar may show a different day
This site's calendar formats events in your browser's timezone. Compare the full date and timezone in the original announcement before treating a one-day difference as a missing record.
Worked example, not a reset forecast: 18:00 in Los Angeles on September 20, 2026 is September 21 at 01:00 UTC, 09:00 in Shanghai and 10:00 in Tokyo or Seoul. A Pacific-time example in winter needs a fresh conversion because daylight-saving offsets change.

Common timing questions
Does a public calendar tell me my personal countdown?
No. This tracker uses public announcements and does not read your account. Take the personal date from Usage, then use the public calendar to follow announcements separately.
Should I plan around a fixed daily reset hour?
Use the time currently displayed for your allowance. The event history does not establish a universal daily schedule, and an expected announcement is not confirmation that your account has changed.
Keep the label with the time
Your useful planning record is an allowance label plus its displayed date and timezone. If that time passes and the numbers still look wrong, use the reset troubleshooting guide.
