How Codex resets work
A public reset announcement does not tell you when your own allowance renews. First identify whether you are looking at a personal usage window, a global reset, or a banked reset saved to your account.

Personal usage window
Your account shows the allowance and reset time that apply to you. Use that time for your own countdown.
Global reset
An extra reset applies directly to the eligible usage limits specified in an announcement. It is not automatically a saved reset card.
Banked reset
A one-time reset saved to your account for later use, subject to the offer’s eligibility and expiration. It is distinct from purchased credits.
Which kind of reset am I looking at?
Use the calendar for public announcements and the history page for recorded events. For your own remaining allowance and next reset time, check your account. The same announcement can include both a global reset and a separate banked grant.

Open Settings → Usage or your usage dashboard. In an active CLI session, use /status. Read each allowance separately: the 5-hour and weekly windows need not end together. This website cannot see your account’s reset times.

A full banked reset refreshes the eligible 5-hour and weekly windows and changes the weekly reset date. Check the updated time in Usage after redemption. It does not permanently raise your plan’s allowance.

Availability depends on the current offer and account eligibility. If Usage shows an available reset, open it, review its expiration and confirm redemption. If nothing is eligible to reset, the reset remains available.

Check the specific announcement and your account or workspace. Offers can have different plans, regions, cutoff times and delivery conditions. Another user receiving a reset does not establish eligibility for your account.

There is no single expiration rule stated for every offer. Use the date shown in your account or offer; do not assume subscription expiry and reset expiry are identical.

Refresh Usage and check the account or workspace. If it still looks wrong, contact OpenAI Support with the offer, redemption time and time zone, client/model and a Usage screenshot with sensitive details removed.

A banked reset and purchased credits are different benefits. Check the options actually offered in your account. This tracker does not sell resets or credits and cannot restore your allowance.

No. An expected window is a plan, not a completion signal. We keep announced and confirmed records separate. If the expected window passes without confirmation, the archive says so.
History ↗How reliable is a next-reset prediction?
We show a current estimate only when the upstream data provides a valid one. Without one, the calendar says no current estimate. Past intervals and community guesses are not a promised reset date.

Times on this site follow your browser’s time zone. The original post may use Pacific Time, which changes with daylight saving time. Preserve the date as well as the time when comparing posts; without JavaScript, archive times are labelled UTC.
